How to make a spinning sculpture spin?

In order for the sculpture to be able to spin I took my proposal to the metalwork technician at Bath School of Art and Design, Simon Butler, to see what he would recommend.

He recommended that we use metal pipes for the axis and secure two large bearings on to this pipe so that the sculpture could spin around this.

In order for the sculpture to sit vertically from the ground, a section of metal pipe will need to be sunk into a large hole and concrete poured around so that it is stable and secure.

The two different bores of pipe have now arrived, as have the two bearings and so the cutting of the pipes can begin.
