And we’re off!

First I mark up the stone using dividers to scribe the rings on. While the stone is lying flat I also drill the dowel hole and cut a dowel to fit. This will allow the finished piece to sit upright on its base. I then flip the stone upright with lifting gear. The plastic template is used to mark on the roots upon both sides of the stone. I then used an angle grinder and a die grinder to cut out the negative spaces. Laborious and very dusty but a fairly efficient tried and tested method.
