Making the external shell – part 3

I have now added webbing and a layer of fibreglass to the quarter circles to make a surface.

On this surface I am adding plaster and using a plywood profile that will rotate along the length to create the form.

The plaster itself is quite rough but it can be smoothed by ‘ironing’ it by using the plywood profile over a period of hours.

Once it is dry I will add a coat of varnish to make a skin, fill any small imperfections with filler, add another coat of varnish before preparing for the mold making process.
